Trader Vic’s Mai Thai Cocktail

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lime
  • 1/2 oz. Orange Curaçao liqueur
  • 1/4 oz. simple syrup
  • 1/4 oz. orgeat syrup
  • 1 oz. dark Jamaica rum
  • 1 oz. Martinique or another light rum

Instructions
 

  • Cut lime in half. Squeeze juice over shaved (or crushed) ice in a mai tai glass (double old-fashioned). Save one spent lime shell.
  • Add remaining ingredients and enough shaved ice to fill glass. Hand shake. 
  • Decorate with spent lime shell, fresh mint and a fruit stick.
